12th NIGHT of the DANCE/FRENCH OPEN PROFESSIONAL
Saturday, March 24th 2012 - MONTAUBAN - France
Presentation of the FRENCH OPEN PROFESSIONAL
2001 - 2012: 12th edition of a demonstration which for several years has been done with closed counters. The public, of approximately 2000 people, comes from the south of the France. This discipline, the Dance in Couple, is a social phenomenon not concerning more only the seniors but more and more the 25-30 years, thanks in particular to the Salsa and the Tango.
Trophy Ingres and Master' S Professional
Organized since 2001, the 1st year proposed only one competition amateur: Trophy INGRES in honor of the town of Montauban. At the French level 60 clubs were invited to take part in it.
This competition developed while becoming an international trophy placed under the world aegis of the W.D.C. League amateur.
Starting from 2002, this event is supplemented by the creation of a professional competition, the MASTER' S PROFESSIONAL in Standard Dances. This competition is intended to support and develop the French professional competition. In 2010 and 2011, 7 couples represented France. Title MASTER' S PROFESSIONAL is now replaced by FRENCH OPEN PROFESSIONAL.
2010 - label FRENCH OPEN PROFESSIONAL
Our competition received the foreign recognition and thus the attribution starting from 2010 of FRENCH OPEN PROFESSIONAL. That implies that the Night of the Dance is the French professional competition of reference abroad for its qualities of organization, development of the discipline, quality of the jury, respect of the couples and quality of reception.
In 2011, 40 professional dancers pressed the parquet floor of Eurythmie and 40 couples foreign amateurs from all Europe and from Russia had made the trip. On the whole, the competition comprised 140 couples.
The FRENCH OPEN PROFESSIONAL gives to the city, the area and the country a at the very least European if not world radiation. Thus the organizing one, Marie-Helene Dufau, moves in 3 world competitions to present and represent this competition.
